OFFICIAL SPONSORSHIP & SCHOLARSHIP POLICY

1. Nature of Transaction

All purchases made through the SoCal Basketball sponsorship drive (including "Sponsor a Player," "Community Partner," and merchandise sales) are commercial transactions, not charitable donations. SoCal Basketball operates as a for-profit entity dedicated to expanding youth sports access. Payments are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions. Businesses may be able to deduct purchases as advertising expenses (consult your tax professional).

2. "Lifetime Tuition Scholarship" Definition

The "Lifetime Tuition Scholarship" provides a tuition waiver for one (1) designated child for the duration of their participation in our program.

* Scope: Covers league registration fees and tuition. It does not cover optional expenses such as travel tournaments, premium gear, or private training unless explicitly stated.

* Duration: Valid for the duration of the child’s eligibility in youth sports or the duration of SoCal Basketball’s operations, whichever ends first.

* Conduct: The scholarship is contingent upon the participant adhering to the League Code of Conduct. We reserve the right to revoke a scholarship for repeated behavioral violations by the player or parent.

3. Allocation of Funds (The "Rollover" Policy)

Our goal is to ensure every dollar sponsored puts a kid on the court.

* Priority 1: Funds from sponsorship sales are first applied to cover the tuition costs of waitlisted and scholarship-eligible children.

* Priority 2 (Surplus): If the number of sponsorships sold exceeds the current demand for scholarship seats, surplus funds will be automatically redirected to general youth sports operations. This includes facility rentals, referee fees, equipment upgrades, and marketing outreach to find more players for future seasons.

* By purchasing a sponsorship, you agree that your funds may be used for general league operations if scholarship capacity is full.

4. Refund Policy

All sponsorship sales and merchandise purchases are final. Because funds are immediately allocated to securing facility time and uniform production, we cannot offer refunds once a transaction is processed.
